child-initiated play-based environment that fosters self-confidence, trust, creativity, autonomy, decision making, social interaction and acceptance of individual differences and are actively engaged in activities in which they are interested.

My goal as a teacher is to provide children with a rich environment where they feel safe to explore, initiate learning and feel free to express themselves.

I am committed to the emergent literacy curriculum which focuses on the natural development of reading and writing skills through activity.

We talk to, listen to, and encourage conversation throughout the day. We guide children to problem solve and work out their own problems rather than solving their problems for them. We do this through positive guidance which gives them confidence and opportunities to feel successful.

Welcome to the exciting world of parenthood! As you embark on this incredible journey, it is natural to feel a mix of emotions, from overwhelming joy to a touch of anxiety. Among the many decisions you'll make as a parent, finding the right childcare for your little one is undoubtedly one of the most important. I will help guide you through the process, providing valuable insights and friendly advice to help you make an informed decision.

This is not a client but a 27 year old that used to come for daycare when she was 1-6
I had the privilege of being among the first group of children Annie guided through childhood as she was starting Annie's Alphabet back in the mid 90s. Now as a 24 year old woman, I still look back on my time with Annie as such an unforgettable and formative part of my life. While other kids were submerged in standardized pre-k programs, I was busy being a pure child at Annie's Alphabet. The early exposure to learning through play and exploration has without a doubt positively impacted my life, in ways that I still am continuing to find.

By giving us the power to play and explore at our own pace and dig into our true interests in a structured but free form way, she primed my mind and my learning process to grow into one that is both intensely creative and fundamentally critical. I find myself consistently thinking outside of the box and possesing the courage and drive to find rare solutions to complex problems in every avenue of my life- an underdeveloped skill I see in a lot of my peers. Those that have this capability have an undeniable edge in the workforce, something I have experienced firsthand as I am diving into the professional world.

She didn't only teach me how to follow directions, she taught me how to think and learn for myself when my brain was its most impressionable. I still am guided through the world with a contagious excitement about my curiosities and a desire to learn more and dig deeper into my natural inclinations. I never noticed how much my brain was being stretched, how much I was really learning about myself and the process of learning, I was just having so much fun.

I need to emphasize that again, I have such a massive catalogue of laughter filled memories because of Annie. I just had so much fun everyday I was there. There's no other way to put it.

Being able to reflect on the freedom of expression, the welcoming and accepting environment, the access to endless art supplies, science experiments disguised as beautiful play things, creative games and projects, and an overarching theme of self exploration at your own pace, I truly consider myself lucky that I got to be a kid at Annie's. I have so much love and gratitude for the environment she foraged and the opportunity she gave me to just run around and be a pure child. It matters more than I ever knew.

Kindwords from a former Toddler

Thank you Annie!!!!

Kind Words

Annie runs the daycare out of her home with the help of another teacher, Karina, and occasionally Miriam. All the teachers are very kind and show genuine care towards the kiddos. My kids started there around ages 1 and 2. They love it there! They have so much fun, feel safe, supported, and encouraged. The kids also get healthy meals prepared for them and play outside almost everyday. The outside area for the kids to play in is very spacious and has a lot of cool spots for the kids to hang out. Overall Annie and Karina provide a very homey environment for the kids and I would highly recommend this home daycare!

My daughter attended Annie's Alphabet from 1-4 years old. Each morning she was excited to get there and each evening she hated to go. My daughter made great connections with the kiddos there. One of her all time favorite people is Miss Rina, a teacher at Annie's. We still make it a point to keep in touch and visit when we can. Besides the wonderful nurturing environment, Annie's focuses on play based learning. Kids get some of the basic school readiness needs met through: circle time, story time, a science area, book nook. Kids are encouraged to have fun learning, get messy, and build important social/emotional relationships. I can't say enough good things about Annie's Alphabet. Amazing Childcare Center!!!
